Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Pedro from Barcelona in a deal that could rise to £21.4m.
Pedro, 28, had appeared to be on his way to Manchester United before the deal fell through.
The winger, who can also play as a central striker, told Chelsea’s official website, “I am very happy to be here. I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles.
“Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on.”
Pedro came through the ranks at Barca, joining their academy in 2004 and making his first-team debut in 2008.
He has won every major trophy in his career, the latest being the UEFA Super Cup when he scored the winning goal in Barcelona’s thrilling 5-4 victory over Sevilla.
He was part of Spain’s World Cup squad in South Africa in 2010, starting in the semi-final and final, and again in Brazil last year.
Chelsea have not released any details of his contract.
Pedro becomes Chelsea’s fourth new signing of the summer following Asmir Begovic, Radamel Falcao and Abdul Baba Rahman.
