Kogi PDP primary: No going back on today primary, some PDP faction vows.

The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday, disclosed that its primary to elect a candidate for upcoming governorship election in the state would hold on Thursday as scheduled.
Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Bode Ogunmola, who made this known in Lokoja, the state capital, said that 926 delegates would participate in the exercise.
Ogunmola told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that it was not true that the primary had been postponed as was being rumoured.
He spoke at the backdrop of a statement by the party’s national headquarters in Abuja announcing the postponement of the primary till Monday.
The statement was signed by National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Olisa Metuh.Contacted on confusion created by his statement and the position of the party’s leadership in Kogi, Metuh said that he was not answerable to the state.
There is no controversy. How can the National Working Committee say something and the state is saying a different thing?” he asked.

When told that Ogunmola said that PDP leadership in the state had not been informed of any shift of the primary, Metuh said “is the national answerable to them or they are answerable to the national?

“How can you be asking me that question? Are they the ones to conduct the primary? If the man wants to conduct the primary, let him go ahead,” he stated.
