The gale of defection of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Ekiti State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hit Are-Ekiti, the hometown of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dipo Anisulowo.
Anisulowo’s cousin Mrs. Remi Anisulowo-Fadipe said said she joined the APC because of the alleged injustice in the PDP.
She was presented with the broom, the symbol of her new party, by the APC Deputy Chairman, Mrs. Kemi Olaleye on behalf of the party chairman, Chief Olajide Awe.
Mrs. Anisulowo-Fadipe, a former board member of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), said the community had not felt the impact of the PDP government.
According to her, she was attracted to the APC because of President Muhammadu Buhari‘s leadership quality and sincerity in tackling the problems created by the PDP.
Mrs. Anisulowo-Fadipe, who served as a former PDP ex-officio in the State Working Committee (SWC), described some leaders of her former party as “greedy, power-hungry, self-centred and lacking passion for the common man”.
Mrs. Olaleye said the new members would be accorded the same privilege with old members, describing Mrs. Fadipe as a “big giant, a mobiliser who has a lot of electoral value”.
