A serious fight has broken out among members of the House of Representatives, with the federal lawmakers exchanging blows.
At the plenary of the House on Thursday, the tension and divided interest among the legislators led to a brawl, which is still ongoing as of the time of filing this report, between the two factions in the chamber.
At the heart of the fighting is the leadership crisis, which has engulfed the House since the controversial inauguration of the National Assembly on June 9.
The Mace, which is the symbol of authority of the House, has disappeared, as the lawmakers continue with their fighting.
It is learnt that the Mace has however been ferried to the inner office of the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
Confusion currently prevails in the Green Chamber, with no one appearing to be in charge.
Some loyalists surround the Speaker, with each of them trying to tell Dogara what do in the midst of the confusion in the House.
