President Muhammadu Buhari has reassured the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) in the North-east that Boko Haram insurgency will be history before the next cropping season.
He made the disclosure at the Malkohi IDP camp in Yola, Adamawa State.
Buhari restated the resolve of his administration to make sure that the IDPs returned to their homes before the next cropping season when the Boko Haram menace will have ended.
He said with the current successes recorded by the military in the fight against insurgency in the region he believed that the IDPs, who were mostly agrarians, would soon return to their farms.
The President said his visit to the camp was to sympathize and empathize with the IDPs over the death of their loved ones during their travails with the insurgents.
He also appreciated the military for their determination to overwhelm and clear all the enclaves of Boko Haram insurgents in the region.
