The burial ceremony of Mrs Alice Emefiele, mother of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, Saturday at Agbor, practically turned out a gathering of who-is-who in Nigeria as a presidential delegation, members of the National Assembly, numerous state governors and several moguls of the business community attended the event.
Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, who delivered the sermon at the Christian funeral service admonished Nigerian to jettison all divisive tendencies and work earnestly for peace and unity of the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s team was led by Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), Mr Babachir Lawal who represented Mr President.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State was joined by many other state governors including Adams Oshiomole (Edo), Ben Ayade (Cross River), Willy Obiano (Anambra), Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun) as well as the deputy governor of Benue State.
The list of personages who stormed the commercial town of Agbor, included former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, (represented) and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, was represented by Deputy Minority Leader, Hon Onyema.
Members of corporate business cycle who also graced the ceremony included the Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; oil magnate and Chairman of Forte Oil, Femi Otedola; Mr Jim Ovia, Former Chairman, Zenith Bank, Jim Obia as well as many other captains of industries were also in attendance.
