Bayelsa ex-PDP chairman and APC chieftain,Col-Sam inokoba, dies in Lagos.

A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State, Col. Sam Inokoba (retd.), is dead.

Inokoba, who on Saturday, August 15, 2015, led other PDP heavyweights and faithful to defect to the All Progressives Congress, died in the early hours of Wednesday.
It was learnt that the APC leader died at the age of 66, a month to his 67th birthday, at the Military Cantonment Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos State.
He was said to have gone to Lagos on a private visit to see his family when he slumped and died.
Before his demise, Inokoba’s health had generated some concerns as he was alleged to have slumped on some occasions at public functions.
It will be recalled that Inokoba had slumped during the last PDP Presidential rally held in Yenagoa.
Inokoba was said to have procured his Expression of Intent and Nomination Forms at the APC secretariat in Abuja to contest the governorship election primaries of the party a few days ago.
His son, Waripamowei, while confirming the death of his father, said he slumped about 2am on Wednesday.
He said Inokoba was confirmed dead before he was taken to the hospital, adding that some of the family members had already gone to Lagos to convey his corpse to Bayelsa.
The Inokoba family, in a statement by the deceased’s elder brother, Clee Inokoba; and first son, Waripamowei, confirmed the APC leader’s death.
Many sympathisers, particularly his political associates, have thronged to the deceased’s home in Yenagoa.
One of the early sympathisers to the house, a former member of the state House of Assembly, Indutimi Komonibo, in his condolence message in a register opened at the home of the deceased said, “Inokoba is a great loss to us. It is hard to believe this. But no one can question God.”
