The witness, had while under cross examination by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, counsel to the petitioner (APC and its governorship candidate Chief Umana Okon Umana), admitted that 941 votes were recorded for the Peoples Democratic Party in the units he claimed election did not hold.
The defence witness, Dr. Bassey Asuquo had earlier told the tribunal headed by Justice Sadiq Umar upon examination by Paul Usoro, SAN, counsel to Governor Udom, that the poll was conducted without violence and that he voted in the polls.
But he buckled under cross-examination conducted by Olanipekun and admitted in open court that one polling agent of the PDP, Peter Okon singlehandedly signed result sheets in nine polling units out of 14 units.
When Dr Asuquo was asked to read out the names of party agents that endorsed result sheets from 14 polling units in Uyo LGA, he mentioned to the hearing of the court that Peter Okon singlehandedly signed result sheets in nine polling units out of 14 units.
He said in his testimony that results were collated from all the 14 units in Uyo Local Government Area except in three units where he admitted that the election could not be conducted because of violence.
Other witnesses are Mr. Godwin Ndukude, Isaiah Abia and one Maxwell.
This revelation was made as the Peoples Democratic Party and the Akwa Ibiom State Governor, Mr. Emmauel Udom opened defence of their victory in the April 11 governorship elections in the state.
