The national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party has released the timetable for the conduct of the party’s primary ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.
The party has fixed August 22, 2016 for the primary.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by a member of the National Caretaker Committee of the party, Senator Abdul Ningi.
The party said it released the timetable “in compliance with the stipulations of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), the Independent National Electoral Commissions timetable and the guidelines of the PDP.”
According to the statement, the sale of nomination forms will hold at 13, Thaba-Tseka Street, British Village, Wuse II, Abuja, from Friday, July 22 to Monday, August 8, 2016.
It further stated that the last day for the submission of completed forms would be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 – at the same venue.
The statement said the screening of aspirants would hold at the state party secretariat in Akure, Ondo State, on Thursday, August 11, 2016 while screening/appeal would come up on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the same venue.
It stated further that the congresses for the ward delegates that would vote during the governorship primary would hold on Thursday, August 18, 2016.
The party also fixed Thursday, August 25, 2016 for appeals emanating from the governorship primary.
